Job Description
As a Senior Technical Reviewer, you will join NSF’s growing Nutrition & Wellness Technical Leadership team. This role requires deep expertise in analytical chemistry, laboratory testing, and product formulation, combined with the ability to apply scientific rigor in a customer‑facing, standards‑driven environment.
Leveraging your scientific credibility and hands‑on laboratory experience, you will help customers, regulators, and industry stakeholders understand the science, rigor, and integrity behind NSF’s testing and certification programs. You will play a critical role in the scientific development, maintenance, and technical leadership of NSF/ANSI Standard 173 certification for dietary supplements, representing NSF as a trusted technical authority.
In addition, this role contributes to thought leadership and technical content creation—both internally and externally—to advance program recognition, scientific excellence, and industry adoption.

Responsibilities
- Acting as the technical subject‑matter expert for NSF’s Nutrition & Wellness testing services for NSF/ANSI Standard 173 certification for dietary supplements, while operating within accreditation requirements
- Explaining analytical chemistry, testing methodologies and scientific principles to customers and partners and internal/external stakeholders
- Supporting client discussions by providing scientific credibility and technical insight
- Delivering seminars, presentations and technical briefings to clients, industry groups and external stakeholders
- Representing NSF at conferences, trade shows and industry events as our technical spokesperson. Support marketing and communications on external messaging
- Supporting the development and refinement of testing services in collaboration with laboratory, quality and operations teams
- Scan industry for best practices and new testing technology related to contamination and adulterant testing
- Engaging with regulatory bodies, sporting organizations and industry associations where relevant
- Translating laboratory capability and scientific detail into clear, customer‑focused value propositions
- Performs technical review of products/processes for certification
- Serve as a voting member on NSF Joint Committees where needed
- Mentor and train team members on review procedures
- Provide periodic reports to technical leadership for assigned projects or deliverables
- Collaborate with other NSF divisions to ensure the ability to offer NSF clients, and potential future clients, the full range of scheme services available
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Dietary Supplement or academic industry
- Commercial or client-facing experience
- Strong public speaking experience
- Masters or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field
- Public speaking experience with a technical or scientific focus
- Experience working with an accredited scheme or standard & familiarity with ISO17025 and ISO17065
- Quality management system experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
