NSF is seeking an Auditor II – Product Certification ((must live in Southeast Florida) is responsible for conducting product certification audits in accordance with applicable certification program requirements as assigned, regulatory standards, and accreditation rules, including but not limited to NSF/ANSI 455 Standards for Dietary Supplements, Cosmetics, and OTC Drugs. The Auditor II performs audits independently, evaluates implemented quality and product safety systems using objective evidence, and prepares clear, defensible audit reports that meet certification and accreditation expectations.

The total pay range reflects a wide range of factors we consider in compensation decisions, including skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location where the position may be filled. At NSF, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Responsibilities
Audit Execution
- Conduct initial, surveillance, and special product certification audits for regulated consumer products, including dietary supplements, cosmetics, and OTC drugs
- Perform audits in accordance with applicable certification program requirements as assigned, regulatory standards, and accreditation rules, including but not limited to NSF/ANSI 455 Standards (Dietary Supplements, Cosmetics, OTC Drugs)
- Evaluate implemented and documented systems using objective evidence observed during the audit
- Verify compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and program requirements within assigned audit scope
- Conduct special visits related to complaints, product failures, enforcement actions, or verification of corrective actions
- Prepare accurate, objective, and evidence‑based audit reports that:
- Reflect only activities, records, and conditions observed during the audit
- Clearly document conformity and nonconformity against auditable requirements
- Exclude consulting, advisory, or future‑based language
- Write nonconformances that are clear, stand‑alone, and defensible to independent technical review
- Maintain effective communication with certification management, technical reviewers, and project teams
- Represent the certification body professionally during audits and client interactions
- Identify systemic risks, recurring issues, or areas requiring escalation in accordance with certification and accreditation procedures
- Obtain and maintain, as applicable, auditor qualification and authorization status as required by assigned certification programs and accreditation rules
- Participate in required training, assessments, and evaluations to demonstrate and maintain technical competence
- Complete periodic reassessments or witness evaluations when required by program or accreditation expectations
- Maintain sufficient audit activity or supporting evidence to demonstrate ongoing competence
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, regulatory, or quality‑related discipline
- Alternative degrees may be accepted when supported by documented relevance to product safety, quality systems, or regulatory compliance
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
- Quality systems
- Manufacturing operations
- Regulatory compliance
- Product safety or quality assurance
- Experience with dietary supplements, cosmetics, OTC drugs, or other regulated consumer products preferred
- Lead Auditor training or equivalent
- Working knowledge of:
- GMP‑based quality systems
- Risk‑based auditing principles
- Applicable regulatory and certification frameworks, including NSF/ANSI 455 Standards, as applicable to assigned scope
- Ability to complete additional program‑specific training as required to meet minimum qualification expectations
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
- Clear, precise technical writing ability
- Sound professional judgment aligned with accreditation expectations
- Ability to work independently from a remote/home‑based location
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic audit and reporting systems
