Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team, with a strong focus on project budgeting, financial tracking, and revenue recognition support. This role will act as a key liaison between Finance, Project Management, and external customers to ensure the financial integrity and performance of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate with project manager to develop and maintain detailed project budgets and forecasts
- Track project spend against budgets and provide variance analysis and financial insights
Project Financial Support
- Partner closely with project team and external customers to support financial planning and resolve budget or billing issues
- Support contract review for financial implications, billing terms, and revenue recognition treatment
- Assist in preparing financial documentation for customer reporting or audits
Revenue Recognition & Month-End Close
- Coordinate with accounting to ensure timely and accurate recognition of project revenue in accordance with GAAP or ASC 606
- Monitor project milestones, percent completion, and billing schedules to support revenue recognition
- Prepare and review journal entries and accruals related to project financials
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and maintain project-level financial reports and dashboards for internal management
- Provide insights into project profitability, cost drivers, and financial risk areas
- Participate in cross-functional reviews to assess financial health of projects and make recommendations
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline project finance processes and improve tools/templates
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and project financial policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
- 4–6 years of experience in financial analysis, with a focus on project or contract-based environments
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and revenue recognition (e.g., percent-of-completion, ASC 606)
- Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and project accounting systems (Microsoft Business Central/Progressus)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and directly with customers
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- Industry experience in Ship Repair and Ship Building
- Familiarity with customer contracts, billing schedules, and project milestone tracking
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
