Bartender

This position is located in the Main Deck Lounge on Naval Support Activity Panama City. The purpose of this position is to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full-service bar.

Qualifications:

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of beverages by combining ingredients such as liquors, soda, water, sugar, bitters and fruit garnishes.
• Serves liqueur, beer, beer, and wine, and is skillful in mixing such beverages as an Alexander, Margarita, Zombi, Singapore Sling, etc.
• Skill to completely set-up a bar and to recognize impending shortages of supplies based on the volume of business and insure their timely replacement.
• Ability to collect tabs, chits or cash in appropriate amounts and is accountable for cash and inventory for the period worked.
• Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks to order, following a variety of established recipes.
• Keeps bar clean and keeps area stocked properly.
• Delivers drinks to bar waiters, or serves directly to patron, receiving payment or charging to members' account.
• Washes glasses and other bar equipment.
• Prepares garnishes for mixed drinks.
• May help stock service bar and serve catered parties from service bar or from portable bars.
• Assists in taking inventory and maintaining records on which drinks and liquors are in the greatest demand.
• Accepts money, operates cash register, and makes change.
• May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
