We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Per Diem Front Desk Administrative Assistant to support our busy radiation oncology practice. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible and available to provide coverage for staff time off, vacations, and schedule gaps, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact by answering phones and welcoming patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy
- Schedule new patient consultations and follow-up appointments
- Ensure all required medical records and documentation are obtained prior to scheduling
- Navigate and utilize multiple electronic health record (EHR) systems, including Epic, Meditech, and MOSAIQ (experience preferred)
- Track and confirm receipt of lab results, ensuring timely review by physicians
- Communicate scheduling conflicts or concerns to the care team promptly
- Complete prior authorizations for ordered imaging studies
- Provide administrative support to nursing staff and radiation therapists as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in oncology, or specialty medical practice strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly oncology-related terms
- Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
- Ability to triage phone calls and prioritize urgent patient needs appropriately
- Experience coordinating care across multiple providers or departments
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate scheduling or workflow issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general computer skills
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems simultaneously with accuracy
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated reliability and flexibility with short-notice coverage needs
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-stress or emotionally sensitive situations
