What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician NRG position at NRG Systems?
The Field Service Technician Level II travels to job sites to support installation and commissioning of NRG products, and troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair products at customer sites. This resource will typically travel with a more experienced member of the Field Services team who will direct their activities while performing installation and commissioning activities. They will also travel independently to sites that require maintenance that doesn’t require the experience of a Level III technician.
This position requires technical competence, critical thinking skills, application of technical concepts. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager. They will work in partnership with the Technical Services and Solar Project Management team to achieve the goals of their department plan that are in line with company values, culture, and philosophies.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections of NRG Solar Resource Assessment and Monitoring stations and address any maintenance or performance issues.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities, including replacing faulty components and performing tests to ensure optimal system performance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures, utilizing technical knowledge and monitoring tools.
Collaborate with the NRG technical services, project management, engineering, and operations teams and provide feedback to these teams as appropriate.
Coordinate closely with the project management and construction teams during the installation and commissioning of new projects.
Generate reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all work activities.
Stay updated with the latest in industry trends and best practices in solar technology and maintenance techniques.
Requirements:
High School Graduate
2-3 years of experience assembling and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems in a production or service environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Professional and dependable manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment with strong attention to detail
Honesty and accountability
Physical Requirements:
70% travel across various regions in North America. Some international travel may be required.
Working in active multi-megawatt solar plants and high voltages.
Ability to perform mechanical installation of NRG systems which include components that weight 50 pounds.
Compensation: $23-28/hour
