What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Operator position at NRG Services, LLC?
Salary: $30-$36 per hour depending on experience and location.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain optimal fuel combustion in boiler systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
- Operate and control various equipment, including stokers, burners, or pulverized coal systems, to achieve proper fuel combustion.
- Monitor boiler gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure proper functioning and adjust controls as needed to maintain desired boiler performance.
- Monitor and regulate fuel feed systems, ensuring an adequate and consistent fuel supply.
- Perform routine inspections and tests on fuel systems, burners, and related equipment to identify and resolve any malfunctions or abnormalities.
- Clean and maintain boiler components, including removing ashes, clinkers, and debris from fireboxes, hoppers, and ash pits.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of boiler systems, including replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, including fire hazards.
- Keep accurate records of boiler operations, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as Boiler Operators and maintenance staff, to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the boiler system.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of boiler operations, fire safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical/vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers.
- Valid state boiler 2nd Fireman license.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a demanding environment (including standing, climbing, and lifting heavy objects, up to 35 lbs at a time).
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
