The Site Manager plays a critical role in the successful execution of Power and Energy automation projects, overseeing all on-site field operations. During the construction phase, the Site Manager serves as the primary liaison between the project team, general contractors, and subcontractors. Between deployments, the role also contributes to estimating new projects and supporting systems engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and support to commissioning teams.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and subcontractors.
- Assist in prioritizing and assigning installation tasks across trade teams.
- Represent the company in commissioning meetings.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers and trade partners.
Instrumentation & Electrical Design:
- Assist in developing instrument lists by reviewing P&ID drawings and bid specifications.
- Research and recommend suitable instrumentation (e.g., TTs, PTs, FTs, actuators).
- Inspect installation of electrical panels and instruments to ensure compliance.
- Identify and document any installation issues or discrepancies.
Commissioning Methodology:
- Support and participate in system demonstrations and customer acceptance testing.
- Conduct and understand point-to-point loop checks and functional testing.
- Monitor and contribute to the site's commissioning plan progress.
- Engage in discussions on field-based design modifications.
Project Management:
- Support the development and maintenance of procurement logs and installation trackers.
- Receive and verify shipments, ensuring smooth handover of equipment.
- Collaborate closely with MEP subcontractors.
- Maintain a clear understanding of project scope and field quality control standards.
- Prepare detailed daily site logs to report progress and site conditions.
- Coordinate scheduling and execution of commissioning activities.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in Project Management or Site Management.
- Hands-on experience with low-voltage system installation.
- Strong organizational skills, with experience in scheduling and leading meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Microsoft Project.
- Foundational knowledge of HVAC systems in large-scale automation environments.
- Understanding of sequences of operation and P&IDs for HVAC and plant utilities.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control valves used in HVAC systems.
- Experience with building automation and/or industrial control platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Schneider, AVEVA, Inductive Automation) is a plus.
- Prior on-site commissioning experience is highly desirable.
