Work days are Monday-Friday. CDL preferred, but not required. You will be driving an under-CDL truck, so a valid, clean driver’s license is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate rear load garbage trucks, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations at all times
- Load and unload waste materials from residential or commercial containers using manual or mechanical methods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring proper functioning of all equipment
- Assist with the maintenance of the truck, including basic mechanical checks and reporting any repairs needed
- Navigate urban or rural routes efficiently, adhering to designated schedules and routes
- Interact professionally with customers during pickups, providing excellent service and addressing any concerns or questions
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including loads collected, route completion times, and vehicle inspections - via our software system.
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy-duty trucks and waste collection equipment
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with manual transmission experience preferred, but not required
- Experience in heavy lifting and physically demanding roles involving load & unload tasks
- Familiarity with roll-off trucks or flatbed vehicles is a plus
- Prior delivery driver experience demonstrating safe driving practices and route management skills
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to waste collection operations and vehicle maintenance
Full time Monday-Friday. $25-$30/hour depending on experience.
