Join the Largest National Gas Distribution Contractor in the United States. As a Non-Union NPL Fleet Mechanic you will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools in a safe, efficient, quality-minded, and customer focused manner.

Join the Largest National Gas Distribution Contractor in the United States. As a Non-Union NPL Fleet Mechanic you will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools in a safe, efficient, quality-minded, and customer focused manner.
What You'll Do
- Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repair
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems
- Follow paper-flow procedues including documenting correct mileage/hours, maintaining all warrenty and core parts, documenting all repairs, and follow parts ordering and billing procedures
- Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit
- Perform maintenance and repair welding on equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality manner
- Other duties as requested by leadership
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of work experience is preferred in the operation, repair, and maintenance of cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools
- Valid Class A CDL is required
- General knowledge of construction related equipment
- Must be a current MNDOT qualified Inspector
- Strong verbal and written communication; detail-orientated
- General competency in computer systems

- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
- Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
- Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
- Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Hold/obtain DOT medical card
