Academic Req: Required – Bachelors degree in behavioral sciences, human services or social services Preferred - Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields Work experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of progressive responsibility in the field, including case management experience. Master’s degree with at least two years of progressive responsibility in the field, including case management experience. Summary: The trainer facilitates comprehensive training for newly hired and experienced Human Trafficking Interdiction assigned program personnel, including program leadership, in accordance with agency policies and procedures and state and federal standards and requirements. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying training needs and collaborating with community partners to access trainings or training opportunities for the team, as needed or requested by supervisor. Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables: 1. Establish and implement a training strategy and agenda for the Building Bridges Against Trafficking (B-BAT) program 2. Facilitate training continuously to experienced personnel, including leadership and to newly hired personnel and track new hire shadowing visits and hotline rotations. 3. Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials as requested. 4. Occasional travel from one location to another is inclusive of distances greater than 50 miles from home office requiring the use of personal vehicles for the purposes of ensuring greater understanding of training needs for those in the field as well as to provide in person trainings 5. Assist supervisors by conducting CSE-IT trainings, and others training needs or training opportunities, as needed, for community partners 6. Track training effectiveness by ensuring compliance with policies, protocols and trainings. 9. Ensure all personnel are effectively trained to successfully implement all program service modalities, both as new hires and on-going 10. In collaboration with the BBAT program leadership, updates and maintains internal online training systems with program trainings and training compliance, providing prompts should individuals fall behind in adhering to required deadlines for trainings 11. Meet all training deadlines required by various program supervisors and their state and federal partners 12. Other duties as assigned Essential Functions: 1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position 2. Develop and present relevant training to Human Trafficking Interdiction B-BAT personnel that meets agency, licensing and contract requirements and the individual needs of each staff 3. Collaborate with Human Trafficking Interdiction B-BAT team to develop effective social work, safety, and other program-related training materials which can be reviewed, approved, and implemented with minimal revision 4. Collaboratively develop, plan and maintain adequate staff training opportunities that provide staff numerous opportunities for skills and knowledge development and including staff on evening and overnight shifts 5. Assist with staff training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes 6. Assist with Human Trafficking Interdiction B-BAT program personnel files, training records and training certifications. 7. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor 8. Implement BCFS HHS safety protocols in case of an emergency 9. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations 10. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations 11. Observe and ensure compliance with BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS HHS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and always complying with required dress code. Requirements: 1. Acquire and maintain licenses and certificates required for the position, which may include but is not limited to: Trust Based Relationship Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, CPR, First Aid, CSE-IT Super Trainer Certification, State Driver License, other certifications as applicable 2. Possess current auto insurance and provide verification upon request. 3. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens 4. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request 5. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background check 6. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics b. Work in a fast-paced environment and always maintain emotional control and composure c. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position d. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team 5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all BCFS Health and Human Services policies and procedures.
