Structural Project Manager (OSHPD/Healthcare)

Job Description

  • Coordinate internally with engineers, drafters, and the broader design team/consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Act as the Prime Consultant on projects and lead other design professionals.
  • Attend meetings with clients and design team members and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Lead the design of buildings varying in size, use, and complexity.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the management of assigned projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentor junior team members.
  • Function as Project Engineer on projects as needed.
  • Prepare construction drawings and develop structural systems using a variety of materials.
  • Prepare structural calculations to justify design solutions.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, coordinate with construction professionals, conduct site visits, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs.
  • Perform feasibility studies and existing conditions assessments.
  • Establish project fees and track costs to maintain budgets and profitability.
  • Monitor project schedules to meet design team commitments and exceed client expectations.
  • Review deliverables and provide quality assurance and quality control.
  • Draft proposals and review contracts.

Qualifications

  • 510 years of structural engineering experience in Healthcare (OSHPD) projects.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering with an emphasis/specialization in Structural Engineering.
  • Master's degree (M.S.) in Structural Engineering (Preferred).
  • California Structural Engineer (S.E.) License.
  • Relevant experience with structural materials including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, metal studs, and seismically active areas.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering design software: ETABS, RISA 3D, SAFE.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards for the design and construction of major healthcare (OSHPD) building projects.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
