Junior Accountant
We are seeking an Accountant to assist in the preparation of P&L reports, accounting entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Actively participate in the month end closing process
- Prepare month-end income and expense journal entries
- Prepare month-end balance sheet journal entries
- Responsible for month-end balance sheet account reconciliation, identification, escalation and resolution of issues associated with substantiation
- Create and update written controls and procedures
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Strong general accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Knowledge of Great Plains software is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skills
- Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and levels of the organization
- Experience in Financial Services, particularly broker/dealer is a plus
