Environmental Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking an Environmental Specialist to support compliance and sustainability at our mining operations in Central, Utah. This role manages environmental permits, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports reclamation and mine planning activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update permits with UDOGM, BLM, UDEQ, UDWQ, UDAQ, SITLA, and county agencies.
- Conduct inspections, sampling, and reporting for air, water, soils, hazardous waste, and reclamation projects.
- Maintain hazardous waste inventories, air emissions data, and groundwater discharge reports.
- Support mine reclamation (waste dump design, regrading, revegetation, concurrent reclamation).
- Prepare compliance reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for regulatory agencies.
- Assist in GIS/CAD mapping for disturbance areas, property boundaries, and bond calculations.
- Provide training and compliance guidance to mine personnel.
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and submit permit documents.
- Willingness to learn in a dynamic mining environment.
- 3 years of environmental permitting or mining compliance experience.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and related software.
- Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies.
