What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Generalist position at NPAA?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support full cycle recruiting efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, background checks, and offer letters to ensure a smooth and timely hiring process.
- Manage the new hire onboarding process, including coordination of pre-employment activities and delivery of orientation sessions to ensure positive and consistent employee experience.
- Ensure consistency in HR policies and procedures across both locations.
- Provide secondary support for HRIS administration, including data entry, reporting, maintaining data integrity, system upgrades, and troubleshooting as needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with safety, payroll, and operations teams to support cross-functional HR initiatives.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support audits and compliance reviews as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within HR operations and actively contribute to the development and implementation of more efficient, scalable, and compliant workflows.
- Administer key HR programs and processes, including compliance training, annual performance appraisals, merit and bonus cycles, employee attendance tracking, and other recurring HR initiatives to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely execution.
- Assist with employee relations matters, in conjunction with the HR Manager, by supporting investigations, documenting concerns, and promoting positive workplace interactions in alignment with company policies and values.
- Provide back-up HR support for the Lansing, IL location, assist with day-to-day HR activities and ensure continuity of service during absences or peak workload periods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
- Experience with HRIS systems (UKG preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to supported locations.
- Strong communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills including coaching.
- PHR or SHRM-CP Certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
