Duties
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels according to construction plans and schematics
- Sand drywall surfaces meticulously to achieve a smooth finish suitable for painting or texturing
- Apply joint compound, tape seams, and perform drywall repairs as needed to ensure seamless surfaces
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately execute installation tasks
- Assist with drywall texturing, plastering, and other finishing techniques to enhance surface appearance
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, and other trades to coordinate installation processes on-site
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to construction workplace safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall hanging, sanding, and finishing within a construction environment
- Knowledge of construction plans, schematics, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings
- Familiarity with related trades such as framing carpentry, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and plastering
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for drywall installation and sanding
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices on job sites
- Experience with drywall repair, water damage restoration, mold remediation, or renovation projects is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes consistently
