What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Packer + Shipper for Growing Bakery position at Nowhere Bakery?
We're hiring for a Packer/Shipper/Backbone of our bakery for Monday's only. Job starts at 8am to likely 5pm.
Join the family atmosphere of a woman-owned/minority-run allergen-friendly bakery.
You’ll be part of the Nowhere Bakery team that gets wholesale and retail orders ready for customers, nourishing their sweet tooth’s with the best treats in the game. Our fast-paced, physical roles take place in a ghost kitchen near John Wayne airport. You will be stickering, counting, packing, making boxes, and shipping orders.
Duties & Responsibilities
Some of your duties may include:
- Get customer orders ready and pack them up
- Create wholesale labels
- Pack cookies
- Sticker and date product
- Troubleshoot problems
- Ensure product meets quality requirements
- Pack ice into freezer
You'll also need to be able to:
- Lift up to 30 pounds
- Push utility carts up to 40 pounds
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Use carts, dollies, and other gear to move items around
- Wash dishes, sweep, mop, and wipe off work area (where applicable)
- Assist in the bakery and prep side (if needed)
- Adhere to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards
What it's like at Nowhere Bakery
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around mobile bakers with sharp items, hot stoves, fast paced work flow, at times working under the clock.
- Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, concentrating on certain tasks, stickering or working in a refrigerated cooler.
- Temperature. Even with climate controls, temperatures can vary between 40°F and 90°F in some parts of the kitchen; on hot days, temperatures can be over 90°F.
- Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We play music to keep as much of a fun environment as possible.
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, non-slip closed-toe shoes are required. Hair tie, hair net or hat, wash hands repeatedly as we’re working with food, wear gloves, great hygiene.

Requirements:
- Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines. Basic Qualifications:
- High School, GED, or equivalent diploma
