Dietary Aide/Cook

Monday - Friday 4-8 PM

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook/Aide to join our culinary team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to work collaboratively within the dietary department to ensure high-quality food service.

Duties

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards, including proper sanitation practices.
• Assist in menu planning and meal preparation that caters to the specific nutritional needs of residents.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including sanitizing work areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service operations.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Provide support during meal service, ensuring that all residents receive their meals in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Proven experience in meal preparation and cooking, preferably within a nursing home or similar environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices is essential.
• Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes that meet dietary restrictions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A passion for helping others through quality food service and nutrition.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and resident preferences is a plus.
