What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Assistant (9am-5pm) position at NOW Counseling Services?
Provides assistance to the food service department with preparing and delivering meals for residential and outpatient facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performing preparation duties for meals including meats, fruit, and vegetables.
- Weighing and measuring ingredients.
- Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items.
- Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station.
- Assisting with tracking inventory at locations.
- Assist with delivering food to locations when needed.
- Following established recipes to prepare menu items.
- Following guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control.
- Complying with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred
- Valid IN or other state issued driver's license
- 6 months of food service experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of food allergies and modified diets, will be supported with training

- ServSafe Certification

- Wednesday 9a-5p
- Thursday 9a-5p
- Friday 9a-5p
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
