About the Role
NOW CFO is seeking a Director-level leader with a strong accounting background to oversee consulting engagements and develop high-performing teams. This role balances hands-on Controller-level expertise with people leadership and engagement oversight, ensuring exceptional client outcomes and profitable, well-run projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee consulting engagements across multiple clients and industries
- Provide Controller-level accounting leadership, including financial reporting, close, GAAP compliance, and risk management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop consultants, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and performance
- Partner with client leadership to deliver financial insights, process improvements, and strategic guidance
- Ensure engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and profitably
- Identify risks, implement controls, and optimize processes and systems
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while supporting relationship growth and repeat business
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA preferred; MBA a plus
- 7 years of experience at the Controller level, ideally with consulting or multi-client exposure
- Strong GAAP, financial reporting, and close process expertise
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Ability to manage multiple engagements in fast-paced, changing environments
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with various ERP systems
- Strong communication skills, high integrity, and a client-first mindset
