JR Mission Critical Engineer – Level 2 WJW

Role Summary
The Mission Critical Engineer II is a developing engineer who supports daily operations of critical data center infrastructure with growing independence. This role performs preventative maintenance, supports troubleshooting, commissioning events, and works closely with Level 3 Engineers/Directors to ensure safety, uptime, and operational reliability of the facility.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance tasks with limited supervision
Support operational control of critical infrastructure (UPS, Switchgear, Generators, Chillers, Pumps, CRAHs, Fan Walls, BMS/EPMS)
Assist with critical event troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action execution
Support L2-L4 commissioning activities, energizations, and system readiness events
Mentor and help develop Level 1 engineers by explaining decision-making and reasoning
Coordinate with vendors, maintain safe work oversight, and ensure compliance to procedures
Qualifications
Previous exposure to mission critical, industrial, or facility electrical/mechanical systems
Ability to identify abnormal system performance and escalate correctly
Understanding of UPS power paths, cooling loops, critical failure modes, and redundancy concepts
Strong communication, critical thinking, and ownership mindset
Military / Trade school / Technical background preferred
