JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the reviewing of closed and underwriting loan documents to ensure compliance in accordance with investor guidelines and regulations, obtaining corrections when necessary. In addition, responsible for the review of loans that investors suspend for purchase, especially for underwriting related conditions. Research agency and investor guidelines, dispute invalid purchase conditions when warranted, and the timely resolution of all purchase conditions to ensure salability and mitigate cure fees. Complete follow-up and clear loans for purchase within the department required timeframes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that all closed loans are compliant with federal and state laws and meet company policies and investor guidelines.
  • Reviews all closed loans for accuracy ensuring that all conditions have been met, and the loans meet the company quality requirements.
  • Responsible for the review, dispute and clearing of investor's purchase conditions, and requirements including overlays.
  • Maintain department standard daily production and quality rate of Investor Suspense.
  • Responsible for the clearing of investor's requirements and requests. Keeps management abreast of all investors, title companies, or internal department related trends or challenges.
  • Verifies that all investor stipulations requested are valid and met to ensure that loans are saleable/purchased.
  • Works independently and prioritizes work while meeting pre-established deadlines.
  • Requests and follows up daily with title companies, underwriters, Loan Processors, and Closers on all outstanding documents for loans that have been suspended for purchase.
  • Collaborate with counterparts and managers to streamline the Investor Suspense processes.
  • Work escrow holdbacks and handles all escalated direct customer contact (phone, e-mail, text communications).
  • Assists with other aspects of the Loan Delivery process on an as-needed basis.
  • Crosstrain other team members to look up investor and agency guidelines and clear other underwriting related purchase conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) years prior mortgage lending experience, including underwriting conventional, and government loans.
  • Ability to deliver effective results and to meet deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phone and service skills
  • Mathematical skills

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • College degree or equivalent, a plus.

Language Skills

  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Articulate speaker with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
