Summary
The Closer is responsible for preparing and reviewing critical closing documents for mortgage loans. The Closer coordinates the closing process to ensure that all documents are correct and all terms of the loan are met while adhering to company and federal guidelines.

The Closer is responsible for preparing and reviewing critical closing documents for mortgage loans. The Closer coordinates the closing process to ensure that all documents are correct and all terms of the loan are met while adhering to company and federal guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and accurately review all documentation to ensure accuracy
- Data entry
- Communicate with the Loan Officer, Processor, and Escrow Agent to respond to concerns regarding fees, impounds, funds to close, etc.
- Checking estimated HUDs for accuracy in closing dates, seller concessions, and required funds from borrower and fees collected in relation to the transaction
- Check signed loan documents for discrepancies with signatures, notary pages, and missing dates
- Issue a Funding Conditions list to Escrow Agent, Loan Officer, and Processor for items needed prior to funding loan
- Collect items and sign off on conditions
- Follow up with Escrow Agent within 24-48 hours after funding to collect Final HUD and closing checks
- Maintain up to date and accurate data in the system for Closing Manager reports, file tracking, and productivity
- Two years prior mortgage experience- preferably in a Closing Department
- Experience using Encompass
- Ability to deliver effective results and to meet deadlines
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent phone and service skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
