Responsibilities
- Perform expert auto glass installation, repair, and replacement on a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring precise fitting and secure adhesion.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely to carry out glass fitting, assembly, and removal processes.
- Diagnose issues related to automotive glass, including chips, cracks, or improper fitment, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Work with ADAS calibration systems after windshield replacements to maintain vehicle safety features' accuracy.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify additional repair needs such as auto body damage or mechanical issues that may affect glass installation.
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed using auto estimating software; ensure accurate documentation for warranty purposes.
- Follow safety protocols related to power tool usage, heavy lifting techniques, and vehicle maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or automotive shop experience as an auto glass technician or mechanic with a focus on automotive glass repair and installation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for precise fitting and assembly tasks.
- Familiarity with ADAS systems calibration following windshield replacements is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of auto body repair processes, vehicle maintenance procedures, and auto estimating software is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy glass panels safely while adhering to power tool safety standards; physically capable of performing demanding tasks regularly.
- Experience in window tinting, detailing, or auto body work is a plus but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship; strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues efficiently.
