Position: Mobile Assessor
Location: Las Vegas, NV – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $45 per hour
What’s the role?
The Mobile Assessor plays a crucial role at Nevada Behavioral Health by conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking behavioral health services. The Mobile Assessor is responsible for evaluating the client's mental health status, identifying appropriate treatment options, and coordinating referrals to the appropriate resources. The Mobile Assessor works in the field, conducting assessments at various and at embedded locations such as hospitals, clinics, and community settings.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct thorough assessments: Perform indepth assessments of individuals' mental health conditions, substance abuse issues, and psychosocial functioning using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
- Evaluate risk and safety: Assess and identify potential risks to clients or others, such as selfharm or intent to harm others, and take appropriate action to ensure safety.
- Develop treatment plans: Collaborate with clients and their families to create individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals.
- Provide referrals: Determine the most appropriate level of care for clients and coordinate referrals to internal programs, external treatment providers, or community resources.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Document assessments: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Stay up to date on regulations: Stay informed about changes in regulations, evidencebased practices, and industry standards related to behavioral health assessments and treatment.
- Maintain ethical standards: Adhere to professional and ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Provide crisis intervention: Assess and manage crisis situations by providing immediate support, implementing safety plans, and coordinating emergency services as necessary.
- Attend meetings and trainings: Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with other departments for process optimization as needed.

What you’ll bring:
- Strong assessment skills: Ability to conduct thorough mental health assessments using standardized tools and clinical interviews.
- Knowledge of behavioral health disorders: Understanding of various behavioral health disorders, substance abuse issues, and cooccurring disorders.
- Treatment planning: Proficiency in developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
- Referral coordination: Ability to identify appropriate treatment resources and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care.
- Crisis intervention: Skill in managing crisis situations and providing immediate support and intervention.
- Documentation skills: Proficient in maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Communication and collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Cultural competence: Understanding and sensitivity towards diverse populations and the ability to provide culturally competent care.
What you’ll need to start:
- 2 Years of experience working in the field of behavioral health, conducting assessments, and providing clinical services.
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field required. LMFT, CPC, and psychology interns welcomed to apply.
- RNs also welcomed to apply.
- Must pass drug screening and background check in order to start employment with Nevada Behavioral Health.
- Must have independent transportation vehicle and be willing to travel to multiple locations (mileage reimbursed).
- Must be willing to receive vaccinations in accordance with hospital and state requirements.
