Job Title: IT Infrastructure & Support Specialist
Position Overview:
The IT Infrastructure & Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, security,
and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure. The role includes day-to-day troubleshooting, IT
support for end users, vendor coordination, and proactive assessment of technical solutions before
purchase. This position collaborates with internal stakeholders and external providers to guarantee
reliable, scalable, and cost-effective IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Operations
Manage, monitor, and maintain servers, network devices, storage systems, virtualization
environments, and core IT services.
Configure and support on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure,
AWS, VPNs, Active Directory).
Ensure availability, performance, and capacity planning for critical IT systems.
IT Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to internal users, including hardware, software, and
connectivity issues.
Diagnose, resolve, and document technical problems promptly, escalating where necessary.
Install, upgrade, and configure workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and business applications.
Vendor Management
Liaise with software and hardware vendors regarding contracts, maintenance, troubleshooting,
and escalations.
Coordinate delivery and implementation activities with third-party providers.
Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure compliance with technical and business requirements.
Pre-Purchase Technical Assessment:
Conduct technical evaluations on new IT assets, tools, and services.
Provide recommendations based on performance, security, scalability, and cost considerations.
Support budget planning through BOM creation, costing estimates, and licensing evaluations.
Security & Compliance:
Assist in enforcing IT security best practices, including patching, endpoint protection, backups,
and access controls.
Contribute to compliance with internal policies and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
Support incident response and risk mitigation activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and user support (typically 2–5 years).
Strong knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, Wi-Fi solutions).
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Exchange / MS 365, endpoint
management tools.
Troubleshooting skills in hardware, software, and network environments.
Ability to manage relationships with external vendors
