The Role & Your Impact

As an Analytical Scientist , you will serve as a key technical expert within our analytical organization, providing scientific leadership in mass spectrometry-based analyses and advanced analytical workflows. You will support production process optimization and other research programs through method development, data interpretation, and analytical problem solving while ensuring reliable, high-quality results for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage analytical workflows for a variety of analytes using LC-MS, ICP-OES, and other analytical techniques within a high-throughput environment.

  • Perform routine troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance of mass spectrometry instrumentation, with a particular focus on Orbitrap platforms.

  • Ensure analytical data quality and deliver timely reporting of results to stakeholders.

  • Mentor and provide day-to-day direction to Research Associates within the analytical laboratory.

  • Maintain laboratory SOPs, documentation, and inventory systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement through new method development, analytical innovation, and evaluation of emerging technologies.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Graduate-level degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline with at least 2 years of relevant analytical experience; or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant analytical experience.

  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation and workflows.

  • Experience working with Thermo Scientific Xcalibur software and Orbitrap systems is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of chemometrics, statistical analysis tools, and scientific data handling techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

  • Strong analytical thinking and scientific problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and scientific excellence.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

The following qualifications are considered advantageous but are not required:

  • Experience operating and maintaining ICP-OES instrumentation.

  • Experience in high-throughput analytical environments.

  • Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems and laboratory automation platforms.

  • Experience supporting fermentation, biotechnology, or industrial biotechnology applications.

  • Knowledge of advanced method development and validation practices.

  • Interest in evaluating and implementing emerging analytical technologies.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range: $87,000-$95,000
