Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in Midland, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repairs for our clients' equipment. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Duties:
· Install, run and pull Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems at the customer’s wellsite.
· Responsible for troubleshooting, testing and setting up all downhole and surface equipment associated with the installation.
· Commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of VSDs and switchboards.
· Install, setup and troubleshoot HPS units.
· Perform preventative maintenance on surface equipment.
· Manage installation of pump off controllers and SCADA monitoring equipment.
· Gather all information for use in the Dismantle, Inspection & Failure Analysis (DIFA) process on all units pulled.
· Ability to communicate with clients in a professional manner.
· To abide by the Company’s reporting system, including the following reports to be filled in:
a) Installation and pulling reports – to be properly completed and delivered both internally and to the client within 24 hours of the job completion.
b) Customer visit report – to be filled in upon each customer visit.
c) Weekly run life report
· Work effectively with all other personnel to optimize business opportunities.
· Responsible for all assigned Novomet owned tools.
· Maintain assigned vehicle, inside and outside, and ensure regularly scheduled maintenance is completed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with ESP systems or other oilfield production equipment, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of oil and gas field operations, artificial lift systems, and field service best practices.
- Commitment to safety, including familiarity with HSE procedures, safe work practices, and use of PPE in field environments.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with operators, engineers, and field personnel.
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks under changing conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical, petroleum) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to travel to field locations, and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, as operations require.
· Professional proficiency in English required. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, complete service reports, and understand technical documentation.
