Job Description
Compensation: $28.69 an hour - paid weekly
Shift Available: Monday - Friday (Days)
Position: The primary function is to safely install all tooling as required to produce quality thermoformed products. Other responsibilities could include preparation or setup of special tooling for test runs, cleaning tooling as needed and review of
potential tooling designs. The technician must be able to participate as a team member or operate independently depending on department needs.

Job Description

potential tooling designs. The technician must be able to participate as a team member or operate independently depending on department needs.
Key Job Requirements
- Responsible for the changeovers/ setups from the initial tooling installation. Set up all process conditions/adjustments
- Responsible for assembly, installation and alignment of tooling into equipment as needed
- Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and modification of all tooling (molds, trim tools and lip roller tooling) as required to produce quality thermoformed products
- Read blueprints, use precision type instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, and operate all machine shop equipment (lathes, surface grinders, etc.)
- Responsible for completing required documentation (SAP work orders, purchase requisitions, etc.) to help identify equipment deficiencies and to ensure the proper supply of parts/supplies
- Must be team oriented with leadership qualities capable of teaching others technical details
- Demonstrate proficiency at troubleshooting all setup related issues for flaws that may lead to poor product quality or shorten the life span of the tooling and/or the equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Must be self-starting, disciplined, team-oriented with capabilities of working with others in assigned tasks and meeting deadlines
- Must be capable of safely operating a lift truck
- Must be able to safely start and stop any KFT2 and KT4 forming lines
- Other duties as necessary

- Demonstrates knowledge of company specific products, material and/or production technological methods and procedures and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities
- Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of standard manufacturing business processes
- Demonstrates and advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization
- Demonstrates ability to utilize standard hand tools
- Ability to operate thermoforming equipment and peripherals
- Ability to accurately record and maintain information as required
- Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude and abilities
- Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and efficiently identify appropriate course of action
- Three to Five years’ experience in extrusion/thermoforming
- Must be a LVL 4 OP or higher and/or strong mechanical knowledge
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings
- Pretest for mechanical aptitude, spatial relationships
- Capable of working with minimum supervision and maintain high degree of technical proficiency
- Setup and tooling experience
- Ability to read prints
- CAD and computer skills desired but not required
Must be able to:
- Work 9-hour shifts Mon - Fri), standing and walking for extended periods (shift times may change)
- Must be open to extended workdays as schedule dictates, possible weekends
