- Serves as the key liaison between the Commercial team and the Finance organization enabled by enriched Business Partnering relationships, metric tracking and reporting key sales objectives and targets
- Directly supporting BU CFO and partnering with the CPG Commercial VP
- Works closely with Commercial Excellence team regarding Sales Pipeline tracking and reporting
- Drives the commercial planning and financial forecasting/budgeting process by developing in-month and forward channel-level forecasts by customer, factoring in variability in gross price, allowances and material/conversion costs and presents to Business Unit/Channel management
- Responsible for Commercial Channel EBITDA variance bridge calculations and providing robust explanations of variance drivers
- Supports senior management with information to assist with business decision making (predictive/actionable information and data points)
- Responsible for monthly analysis, including detailed variance analysis of standard gross margin
- Integrates commercial finance function into Pactiv’s digital strategy by expanding the use of new digital tools such as One Stream Reporting and Tableau.
- Commercial business case management including developing presentation for approval, coordinating capital investment assumptions with Engineering team, cost modeling, working with Pricing team and Sales on commercial assumptions and developing P&L view of pay-back analysis.
- Creates and maintains a look-forward customer profitability model, which pulls data from multiple locations to efficiently calculate the forecasted profitability of a customer for the next 12 months and factors in potential options in rebates or other items to calculate a pro-forma profitability.
- Partners with FP&A and IT to improve data integrity,
- Coordinate monthly Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) tracking
- Drive corporate initiatives to field sales
- Ad hoc strategic project support as required
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required with emphasis in finance or accounting (MBA/CPA preferred)
- 8 years of experience in a financial analytical role with specific experience in Gross-to-Net accounting and analysis. Public accounting experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of income statement analysis
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills with an ability to anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and take quick action to satisfy
- Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders and teams, with particular ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with database development and reporting tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel); SAP & HFM/Essbase experience preferred
- Experience with digital tools such as Tableau, Robotic Process Automation and Data Management are preferred
Compensation:
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $200-210,000 bonus benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
