What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Technician position at Novo Building Products?
Pay: $22-$30/hr.
Location: Bowerston, OH
Shift: 1st, M-F 6:30am - 3pm

What to expect:
The CNC Technician will be responsible for creating, revising, and verifying drawings, machine coding, tooling, and fixturing to support the businesses environment. This role is expected to be actively involved in daily operation on the shop floor to ensure processes, schedules, and procedures are being followed and to provide support to process improvements.
- Effectively operates various types of machinery and the manufacturing abilities within the limits of the equipment (i.e.: CNC machinery, multi-axis machines, multi-axis coding, molders, planers, support tooling, fixturing).
- Oversees the daily operation of on the shop floor to ensure processes, schedules, and procedures are being followed and to provide support to process improvements of this and other departments.
- Conducts training for new hires or new departmental transfers on CNC equipment.
- Oversees multiple tooling and equipment manufacturers to improve upon support of the equipment, tooling, and fixturing.
- Interfaces with other departments as needed to solve problems and to offer assistance.
- May work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed on short notice.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 Years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED and prior experience in field
- Demonstratable working knowledge of arithmetic and geometry.
- Ability to use a personal computer to perform detailed inquiries, update information, print reports, create, and modify items on a daily basis (i.e.: Microsoft products, WMS/ERP System).
- Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
- Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Strong working knowledge of engineering and design software (i.e.: AutoCAD, MasterCAM software, SolidWorks, etc.) and be able to effectively generate usable output (i.e.: drawings, tool paths, machine code, etc.).
- Demonstratable ability to read, create, and interpret engineering drawing/sketches/diagrams.
- Basic understanding of the production process (understands flow, constraints, problem solving, Lean manufacturing concepts).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent which may include vocational training.
- Five plus years of experience working in a manufacturing environment which includes CNC technical experience.
- Prior experience with set-up and production use of standard manual wood working machines; CNC router table saws, joiners, shapers, horizontal & vertical drilling machines, routers, wide belt sanders and panel saws.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel to all Novo companies, customer and vendor sites as needed.
- May require overnight travel.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
- 100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
- 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
- 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
- 10%: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twisting.
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
