Role Description Novey Gonzalez Family Law is searching for a full-time paralegal. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Client Interaction: Serving as a primary, empathetic, and professional point of contact to individuals navigating the tumultuous process of divorce and paternity law.
- Case & File Management: Retrieving client records, preparing records for attorney review, and keeping case files meticulously organized throughout the discovery process and pretrial preparation.
- Calendaring & Scheduling: Coordinating court events (e.g., trial, hearings, and depositions), and client appointments. Calendaring scheduled events, notating discovery and pretrial deadlines, and securing court reporters as necessary.
- Drafting Legal Documents: Preparing routine pleadings, notices, discovery requests and responses, motions, and client’s financial disclosures.
- Timekeeping: Contemporaneously keeping track of time (both billable and nonbillable) through Tabs software.
We are looking for individuals with dedicated family law paralegal experience, though paralegals with non-family law litigation experience will be considered. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, anticipates attorney and client needs, and solves problems proactively. We also are seeking individuals who are proficient in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Excel) and Adobe Acrobat and possess excellent written communication skills.
