Position Overview
The Novelis Global R&D team, located in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking a Materials Science and Engineering Co-op. This role is responsible for fundamental investigations in aluminum alloy welding, alloy design, advanced materials characterization and property testing, as well as processing development. This co-op will start May 2026 and end December 2026.
Responsibilities
Design experiments and perform welding testing on Al alloys.
Test the mechanical and formability properties of Al alloys under various thermomechanical conditions.
Perform advanced materials characterization, including experiment design, sample preparation, data collection, and post-analysis.
Minimum qualifications
Experience in metallurgy and Al alloys.
S. in Materials Science and Engineering
Preferred qualifications
Research experience in the weldability of Al alloys.
D. in Materials Science and Engineering
