Process/Quality Engineering Intern

Position Overview:

Novelis in Fairmont, WV has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2025 internship. The team is seeking a Process/Quality Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Quality/Continuous Improvement Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for working in corroboration with engineering team members on challenges such as ensuring equipment and process reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, standardizing work methodology, tracking and analyzing key reliability metrics, correcting the causes of repetitive equipment failures, establishing safe operating and maintenance procedures, and reviewing quality standards/concerns.
• Build integrated program plans including schedule, communications plan, and applicable project management
• Communicate effectively to correct equipment problems or to modify equipment functions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
• Must obtain the classification Sophomore, Junior
• interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
• Solid business insight
• High interest in becoming an engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
