Maintenance and Central Services Leader

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Maintenance and Central Services Leader to serve on the Central Services team for the plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the resource allocation and maintenance of the plant utility systems, providing support to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability and Automation Leader, and providing oversight of the mobile equipment/overhead crane repair group.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the plant infrastructure including, but not limited to, utility systems, HVAC systems, plant water systems, transformers, High Voltage electrical distribution systems, compressed air systems, etc.
• Manage the various Central Shops including Truck Shop, Machine Shop, Fab Shop, Instrument Shop, etc.
• Complete projects and collaborate with contractors and vendors.
• Collaborate with various work teams in Manufacturing Units on issues such as equipment down-time, reliability of assigned assets, and planned maintenance.
• Oversee and direct mobile equipment and crane crew personnel to support execution of daily functions to support continuous operation of the facility
• Manage mobile equipment fleet and associated contracts in collaboration with Operations.
• Ensure employee development, including coordination and participation in Skill Based Pay, annual employee review activities and continuous improvement opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or technical subject area
• Extensive industrial or military applicable experience will be given consideration in lieu of a degree
• 5-7 Years of industrial experience at a plant or field location in similar role.
• Deep knowledge of predictive maintenance, team based management, maintenance planning and scheduling, and utility systems (compressed air, HVAC, boilers and power distribution systems)
• Result oriented with strong decision-making capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing or implementing maintenance programs to include training and sustainability of programs.
• Greenfield or capital projects experience.

Location Profile

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
