Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School Biology Tutor to join our dynamic faculty team. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a range of courses, including Biology and AP Biology, and bring a strong commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment.
The tutor should be passionate about helping students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective scientific communication, while supporting them in mastering foundational and advanced biology concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Deliver Effective Instruction: Plan, prepare, and teach engaging, standards-aligned Biology lessons that spark curiosity and promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Foster an Inclusive Learning Environment: Build a supportive classroom culture that encourages active participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Maintain Positive Classroom Management: Implement clear, consistent behavior expectations and effective management strategies to create a well-structured, focused, and productive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a closely related discipline is required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Valid secondary teaching certificate or licensure in Biology is preferred.
- At least two years of recent high school teaching experience in Biology, with demonstrated success in delivering effective instruction (preferred).
- Solid understanding of diverse instructional strategies, assessment practices, and the integration of educational technology to support student engagement and achievement.
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environment that addresses and respects the diverse needs of all students.
