Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Economics and Business Teacher to join our high school academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic foundation in Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Business Studies, with the ability to teach across multiple subject areas and levels, including AP, honors, and university-preparatory coursework.
A central component of this role is mentoring students in competitive business and finance programs such as FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. We are looking for an educator who combines strong theoretical knowledge with practical experience guiding students toward measurable success in competitions, research projects, and real-world business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous and engaging instruction in Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Business Management aligned with AP and college-preparatory standards.
- Mentor and coach students for national and international competitions (e.g., FBLA, Wharton Investment Competition, DECA), supporting strategic preparation and performance excellence.
- Design interdisciplinary coursework that integrates economic theory with real-world business practice.
- Incorporate case studies, market simulations, investment modeling, and project-based learning to strengthen financial literacy and analytical reasoning.
- Guide students in research projects, portfolio development, entrepreneurship initiatives, and competition strategies.
- Assess student performance using diverse evaluation methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to further develop and expand the school’s business and economics program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree or higher preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring students in business or economics competitions (e.g., FBLA, Wharton Global HS Investment Competition, DECA), with documented student achievements preferred.
- Ability to teach multiple disciplines, including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Business Strategy.
- Strong proficiency with instructional technology and data-informed teaching practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Passion for inspiring students to engage deeply with business, finance, and economic systems.
