We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent with a strong background in hotel or multi-family construction to oversee and manage on-site operations for our latest hotel project in Durham, NC. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Position Overview:
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety compliance, managing schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining quality standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, leadership in managing crews, and strong communication with the corporate office and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage on-site construction operations for hotel or multi-family projects.
- Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project plans.
- Maintain a strict construction schedule, anticipating and addressing potential delays.
- Enforce safety regulations and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and industry standards.
- Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents to ensure accuracy in execution.
- Maintain daily logs, reports, and project documentation to track progress and address any issues.
- Work closely with the corporate office, project managers, and other key stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and coordination.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, preferably in hotel or multi-family projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple trades.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schedules, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction management software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
