What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Account Manager position at Novel Bio?
Technical Account Manager
Who we are:
The next wave of genetic medicine depends on better DNA. We’re making that possible.
At Novel Bio, we are a team of DNA experts, artists, and problem solvers who saw a biotech bottleneck and decided to fix it. Our lean manufacturing technologies deliver high-yield, high-purity plasmid DNA—the critical foundation for fast-growing markets in cell and gene therapies, RNA therapeutics, and vaccines.
Now we are looking for a Technical Account Manager to help bridge technical customer conversations, project scoping, and long-term account growth across our plasmid DNA business. This role is a great fit for someone who pairs strong scientific fluency with clear communication and a customer-first mindset. You will work closely with commercial and technical teammates to guide customers from scoping and quote through project execution and into a long-term partnership, delivering a high-touch, detail-oriented experience that supports retention and repeat business.
This is not a traditional order-management role. You will:
- Support technically nuanced customer conversations
- Define project scope and next steps
- Manage post-sale communication and follow-through

What you'll do
- Partner with business development teammates as opportunities move into more technical scoping and closing stages.
- Help clarify customer needs, identify missing details, and ensure project requirements are well understood before work begins.
- Manage client communication throughout active projects, including updates, follow-up questions, and coordination on next steps.
- Build trusted relationships with existing customers and help identify opportunities for account growth, repeat business, and expanded scope.
- Coordinate closely with internal technical and operational stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Use tools such as CRM systems, spreadsheets, and other workflow trackers to manage multiple accounts and timelines effectively.
- Help improve internal workflows tied to quoting, scoping, customer handoff, and account support.
- Represent Novel Bio in a high-touch, relationship-driven way during client meetings, site visits, and other interactions.
