Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Machine Operator with basic knowledge of CNC machining processes and machine operation to join our aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a variety of machinery used to produce high-temperature gaskets and seals for aerospace applications. Equipment may include mechanical and hydraulic presses, deburr wheels, punch presses, manual lathes, vertical and horizontal rolling benches, laser machines, and other production equipment.

You will work with a variety of metals, including Stainless Steel, Waspaloy, Inconel, and Copper. Success in this position requires excellent attention to detail, strong hand-eye coordination, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts while maintaining a safe work environment.

This is a temporary-to-permanent position reporting to the Operations Leader. The primary responsibilities will include working in both the Gasket and Seal Departments to become cross-trained and develop additional manufacturing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Deburr thin-gauge metal parts
  • Small belt sanders
  • Deburr wheels with finishing balls
  • Vibratory machines
  • Hand-held deburring tools
  • Read and follow job travelers and work orders
  • Accurately log into and out of production jobs
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and pi tapes
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance records
  • Complete preventive maintenance documentation as required
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist with additional production tasks, including Ink stamping, bagging and packaging parts
  • Operating hydraulic presses
  • Spot welding
  • Fly presses
  • Mechanical power presses
  • Operate CNC machinery (based on experience level)

Qualifications Required

  • U.S. Citizenship (required due to aerospace industry policies)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to remain focused while performing repetitive tasks and sitting for extended periods
  • Basic math skills for counting, logging, and production calculations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong attendance record and positive work ethic
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes through training
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with tooling setup
  • Spot welding experience
  • Experience operating manufacturing or metalworking equipment

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while maintaining concentration
  • Ability to handle small components with precision and accuracy
