Estimator – Structural Steel Fabrication
We are seeking a detail-driven Estimator to join our team in West Point, MS. As a regional leader in structural steel fabrication and erection, we need a professional who can accurately assess, price, and support the delivery of commercial and industrial steel projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, detailed estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel packages.
- Analyze blueprints, specs, and addenda to produce material quantities and labor projections.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the fabrication team to ensure bid accuracy.
- Track historical cost data to support pricing strategies and improve competitiveness.
- Support handoff from estimating to project management upon award.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in steel fabrication estimating or construction estimating.
- Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings and shop details.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel; SDS/2, Tekla, or Bluebeam a plus.
- Detailed-oriented with strong math, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of AISC codes and fabrication processes is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus, but not required.
