This role plays a key part in ensuring complex fabrication and repair projects start with accurate cost planning. The successful candidate will turn technical drawings, specifications, and proposals into reliable estimates that guide project strategy, protect margins, and support confident decision making across production and leadership teams.
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare cost and labour estimates
• Analyse proposals and contract terms to identify commercial risks
• Ensure estimates meet project requirements before submission for pricing approval
• Coordinate with production teams to assess fabrication, machining, and assembly costs
• Support business development by reviewing quoted work and following up with potential clients
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Around 10 years experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing
• Strong understanding of contract administration and contract management
• Knowledge of costing methods for heavy steel fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Experience reviewing RFPs and contract structures such as FFP and T&M
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
