Job Overview

Assists in the research, development, and characterization of heated film technologies utilizing nanomaterials. Performs routine laboratory work including material preparation, testing, and data analysis under the guidance of senior scientists and engineers. Supports the development of innovative heating solutions by applying knowledge of materials science and chemistry to real-world product challenges.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in the formulation, processing, and characterization of materials used in thin film heater development.
  • Prepare and evaluate polymer films, conductive inks, adhesives, and dispersion systems for electrical and thermal performance.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and document results accurately, maintaining thorough lab notebooks and test records.
  • Support the development of screen-printing processes for deposition of conductive materials.
  • Perform material testing including thermal analysis, resistivity measurements, adhesion testing, and environmental exposure testing.
  • Assist in troubleshooting material and process issues during product development and scale-up activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design reviews, process validations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working order and ensure safe handling of chemicals and materials.
  • Prepare technical summaries, test reports, Invention Reports and IP related documentation

 

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience; internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with polymer films, adhesives, or coating technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with material characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TGA, DSC, four-point probe, tensile testing) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards or laboratory quality systems is a plus.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
