What You'll Do
Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational medicine evaluations including pre-placement, periodic, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty examinations
- Perform OSHA-mandated medical surveillance examinations (respiratory, hearing conservation, silica, HAZMAT, bloodborne pathogen)
- Evaluate and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, including workers’ compensation cases
- Conduct DOT/FMCSA commercial driver medical examinations (NRCME certification required or willingness to obtain)
- Perform and interpret audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, and vision screening as indicated
- Complete respirator medical evaluations in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134
- Provide onsite wellness services including annual wellness visits, health risk assessments, biometric screenings, and urgent care complaints as needed
- Document all encounters in the electronic health record in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner
- Collaborate with employers, HR representatives, and safety managers to support return-to-work
- Communicate work restrictions, fitness determinations, and clinical summaries in accordance with NHES standards
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current, unrestricted licensure in the State of North Carolina (NP or PA)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine
- Demonstrated competency in independent evaluation and management of acute illness and musculoskeletal injury
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, professional clinical documentation
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site clinic environment
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts; 24 hrs. or 3 shifts per week
