The Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our Gastroenterologists and interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions.
Responsibilities May Include
- Evaluate and manage new and established Gastroenterology patients
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Provide pre- and post-procedure follow-up as appropriate
- Provide medication management and patient education
- Coordinate care with Gastroenterologists, Primary Care providers, and other specialists
- Support timely access and continuity of care for patients throughout the market
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
- Support continued growth and development of Gastroenterology services
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current or eligible South Carolina Nurse Practitioner licensure
- Current or eligible national board certification
- Current or eligible prescriptive authority
- BLS certification required
- Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, or related clinical experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high-quality patient care
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively within a physician and APP team environment
