Pay Range: $23-28 per hour

Position Summary:

Novalarm Systems Inc is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to add to our rapidly expanding team. We make security simple for our clients by providing white glove service and tailored solutions to meet their unique needs. This Electrical Apprentice will primarily be responsible for supporting our Installations Department in performing installation of low voltage systems and subsystems across commercial, industrial and residential clients. This includes installation work of fire alarm, burglar alarm, CCTV and access control systems. The Electrical Apprentice may also support our Service Department in performing service of low voltage systems and subsystems as well. The Electrical Apprentice will work under the supervision of either a Journeyman / Masters Electrician or a Systems Technician.

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities under the supervision of a Journeyman / Masters Electrician or a Systems Technician include but are not limited to:

• Pulling and feeding wires. Must develop strong knowledge of proper wire securing guidelines per state electrical code.
• Installing security system, fire alarm system, CCTV, and other access control devices. Must complete work in accordance with applicable electrical code requirements and regulations.
• Tests and troubleshoots security system, fire alarm system, CCTV, and other access control devices / networks as needed.
• Reading and following building plans, electrical designs and other blueprints as needed to perform the installation.
• Assists the Journeyman, Master Electrician or Systems Technician with keeping track of project deadlines, work time, travel time, materials, receipts, inventory, and other information needed to complete the assigned work.
• Assists the Journeyman, Master Electrician or Systems Technician with keeping work site, vehicle, machinery and shop clean and organized.
• Always abides by OSHA and code regulations. Operates work vehicles, scissor lifts, boom lifts, power tools and all other work-related items safely at all times. Adheres to our clients safety standards wherever applicable.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience in the field
• Low voltage experience (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certified

Other qualities needed:

• Must have and continue to develop strong knowledge of proper wire securing guidelines per state electrical code.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written direction.
• Ability to read and follow building plans, electrical designs and other blueprints.
• Strong administrative and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detailself-motivation
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently as well as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to work safely according to OSHA standards, including the safe operation of vehicles, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and power tools
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid drivers license with no more than 2 points on driving record
