Oregon Trailers is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Lot Technician to support our dealership operations in Scappoose, Oregon. This hands-on position plays a vital role in maintaining our inventory, preparing trailers for sale, ensuring the dealership lot is clean and organized, and providing an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a professional appearance of the dealership, and has the mechanical aptitude to inspect, assemble, and test trailers.

What You'll Do

Trailer Receiving & Setup

• Receive, inspect, and safely unload trailers and parts from freight deliveries.
• Verify delivery paperwork and report any discrepancies or damages.
• Move, organize, and position trailers for display and inventory storage.
• Install trailer components and accessories, including tires, jacks, toolboxes, and other equipment as needed.

Trailer Inspection & Testing

• Perform basic inspections and operational testing of trailer systems.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and coordinate with Service Technicians on more complex repairs.
• Test trailer functionality, including towing trailers with company vehicles when necessary.

Lot Maintenance

• Wash and clean trailers to ensure they are customer-ready.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and organized dealership lot.
• Assist with landscaping, snow removal, debris removal, and general property upkeep.
• Ensure trailers are properly displayed and inventory areas remain organized.

Customer Support

• Assist customers with trailer hookups and delivery preparations.
• Verify proper trailer connections and functionality before delivery.
• Educate customers on safe towing practices and basic trailer operation.
• Help create a positive and professional customer experience.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned to support dealership operations.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred

• Experience with trailers, RVs, automotive equipment, agricultural equipment, or related mechanical products.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting experience.
• Forklift experience (training may be provided).

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
