Job Summary

Are you a proven sales professional who thrives on closing deals, building lasting customer relationships, and driving business growth? American Trailer Sales is seeking a Sales Representative to anchor our retail team. In this role, you will be the face of our retail store—managing the end-to-end customer experience, navigating complex sales and trade-in negotiations, and leveraging your industry expertise to consistently exceed monthly sales goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Execution & Relationship Management
  • Drive Revenue: Own and exceed monthly sales goals while actively supporting and mentoring the broader retail sales team.

  • Negotiation & Valuation: Confidently negotiate sales prices, discounts, and establish accurate trade-in values while maintaining established profit margins.

  • Account Growth: Manage and strengthen existing partnerships; strategically plan daily outreach to our current customer base to identify upsell and expansion opportunities.

  • Full-Spectrum Sales: Drive complementary revenue by actively promoting parts sales and service offerings.

Social Media, Marketing & Digital Presence
  • Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across company social profiles, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to showcase new inventory and promotions.

  • Lead Generation & Inbound Response: Actively manage and list inventory on Facebook Marketplace; promptly respond to inquiries, comments, and direct messages (DMs) to convert social media traffic into foot traffic.

  • Digital Merchandising: Keep the company website updated with accurate product listings and high-quality, appealing visuals of our trailer inventory.

Operations & Logistics
  • Inventory Management: Assist in ordering pre-sold and stock trailers from multiple sources; accurately track, manage, and execute orders.

  • Pipeline Accuracy: Utilize our Point of Sales (POS) system for precise data entry, account maintenance, and order tracking to ensure flawless customer communication.

  • Delivery Coordination: Assist with, manage, and communicate the delivery schedule to clients; train customers on safe operation and equipment maintenance upon delivery.

Compliance & Team Collaboration
  • Administrative Excellence: Ensure all licensing paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently, proactively resolving any compliance issues.

  • Showroom Ownership: Take pride in the store’s aesthetic by keeping both internal and external showrooms pristine, organized, and welcoming.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain seamless, clear communication across manufacturing teams, partnering dealers, and corporate leadership.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Proven experience in industrial, automotive, or heavy equipment sales preferred. A strong track record in high-ticket retail sales is a major plus.

  • Digital Literacy: Comfortable utilizing social media platforms (Facebook/Marketplace, Instagram, TikTok) for business growth, lead generation, and customer communication.

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent practical/demonstrated field experience.

  • Product Knowledge: Ability to quickly master and maintain a deep, advanced understanding of all brand offerings and trailer industry trends.

  • Tech Savvy: Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and visual/inventory management software.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven knack for conflict resolution and customer service.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on outdoor retail lots in all weather conditions. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, lift trailer components, and physically connect trailers to vehicles for movement.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, to meet retail peak hours.
