Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory
- Lead a team of warehouse laborers and supervise their activities
- Train new employees, coach and counsel staff
- Organize workflow and delegate tasks to staff
- Responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the successful and timely flow of production work
- Address all problems and issues in timely manner, communicate information or escalate concerns to appropriate staff
- Recommend tools, fixtures, equipment or layout changes to improve workflow and productivity
- Identify recommendations for process and procedure improvements and communicate to management
- Oversee warehouse operations if warehouse manager is absent
C-TPAT
- Review and approve C-TPAT guidelines
- Ensure container and truck doors sealed in accordance with C-TPAT guidelines
- Ensure the safety of all team members through compliance of safety practices and Safety Committee recommendations
Operations
- Oversee the receipt of all goods and completion of documentation to ensure accuracy, complete exceptions as needed
- Supervise the orderly stocking and arrangement of received goods by staff in the warehouse and ensure that the appropriate paper work is attached
- Plan and inspect shipping and loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
- Record and maintain files of requests, work orders and services performed for customers
- Determine space requirements and position of shipments in containers and trucks, plan positioning of shipment
- Manage recycling of appropriate materials, including production boxes, plastics and paper
Inventory
- Ensure that the appropriate inventory management policies are practiced in order to manage and control inventory
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with warehouse management system
- Maintain accurate inventory records by reporting all overages, shortages and variances in inventory
· Maintain positive working relationships with employees, management, and other departments
· Provide excellent customer service to customers and vendors
Skills and Knowledge
· Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
· Knowledge of production equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
· Knowledge of warehouse management systems
· Works well in a dynamic environment with minimum supervision
· Exceptional customer service skills
· Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple responsibilities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High School Diploma
· 3 years supervisory experience
Other
