Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software, training for which will be provided on the job
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear and courteous communication to address patient inquiries, appointment requests, and follow-up needs.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans.
- Collect payments, and post payments to patient records
- Maintain meticulous medical records by filing documents electronically or physically, reviewing documentation for completeness, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and health information management.
- Assist with intake procedures including patient registration, updating medical histories, and explaining clinic policies to foster a welcoming environment.
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment schedules, coordinating care plans with healthcare providers, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred; familiarity with clinic workflows enhances efficiency.
- Prior experience using EMR systems is a plus
- Computer skills - being able to manage multiple windows, emails & documents
- Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle phone calls, transfer calls and follow up with patients via phone as needed.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
